All-Party meet on Vidarbha statehood

With the initiative of Bharatiya Republican Paksha - Bahujan Maha Sangh, and all party meeting has been organised on Monday at 12 noon at Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti hall on North Ambazari Road, to finalise plan for agitation to press for statehood to Vidarbha region.
Already, BRP-BMS chief and former MP Prakash Ambedkar has sent a letter in this regard to leaders of all political parties, social Vidhabha region.
The meeting is likely to discuss fromation of a joint action committee to further the cause of Vidarbha statehood. In his letter, Prakash Ambedkar has stated that since announcement of statehood to Telangana, the demand for statehood to Vidharbha has been gaining momentum and even the leaders of ruling parties have supported the cause. Considering the larger cause, all leaders cutting across party lines should come together, he has urged. The demand for statehood to Vidharbha has been gaining momentum for quite some time. The meeting to be held on Monday has been supported by several organisations including Vidarbha Jan Andolan Samiti. In a release issued here, Vidarbha Jan Andolan Samiti stated that Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar had favoured statehood to Vidarbha considering 80 per cent of population from deprived sections in the region.
