Nagpur SC-ST Entrepreneurs

National SC-ST Hub State Conclave meet was held in Nagpur. The dignitaries of the meet were Shri. Giriraj Singh, Union Minister of State (IC) of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises; Shri. Milind Kamble, Chairman, DICCI; Dr. Vikas Mahatme, MP; Dr. Arun Kumar Panda, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of MSME; Air Marshal Shirish Baban Deo, Vice Chief of the Air Staff (VCAS); Air  Marshal Hemant Sharma, Air Officer Commanding in Chief Maintenance Command, Indian Air Force and Alka Arora, joint Secretary (SME).

The National SC-ST Hub conclave was introduced to make the youth of SC-ST category a job givers rather then a job-seekers. The Government is taking steps to make the youth of India Entrepreneurs. This conclave was organised to make the youth of SC-ST category aware of various schemes and the help the Government is providing to them.

The various facilities provided to MSMEs from SC-ST category are, they can get free registration at NSIC, no earnest money required to be given for e-tender, even if SC-ST quoted rate 15% above the highest bidder, they would get the tender, co-lateral loan upto Rs 2 crore with the help of NSIC, etc.

In the meet it was also said, that in PSU's it is made compulsory to procure 20% of MSME registered manufacture or service providers and in 20%, 4% from MSME registered SC-ST and women (from any category). The PSU's are finding difficulty to complete 4%, as there are very few SC-ST and women Entrepreneurs who dare to go for tendering process. So it is requested from the Government that more SC-ST and women Entrepreneurs to register for MSME and NSIC and avail all the possible facilities, and become the job givers.
