Career in Electrical Engineering

After the results of XIIth are declared, now the students has to select which stream they had to go. In Engineering field they are often confused while selecting the branch. There are lots of option in Engineering like Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, etc. Let us see Electric Engineering as a career option in Engineering.

Electric Engineering is one of the core branch of Engineering. It covers the study of Power from Nano scale to Mega Scale. It helps to understand how power is generated, transmitted and distributed. It is a branch that deals with concepts related to electricity and electric machinery such as Power generation, transmission and use of electricity, electromagnetism, equipment like generator, motors etc. The Electric Engineering branch is lucrative because electrical engineer is required in almost all the companies.

The Electric Engineering branch offers skills development in the areas like analytical thinking, ability to apply the knowledge to specific tasks, good project management skills, high end computing, teamwork, problem solving, interest in updating knowledge to meet job requirements, mathematical skill, and communication skill.

As a career option, there are many job for electrical engineer. Energy audit is always one of the best option after electrical engineering. As per the government policy, in every industry, energy audit is compulsory. Other than this various other options are available through GATE, in MSEB and in Core Companies.

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) exam is conducted every year and has acceptance in several area of engineering i.e. higher study, Research Job, PSUs, etc. With valid gate score one can apply for higer study like M.Tech, M.S (Master of Science) etc in any reputed institute. One can also apply for research jobs like Junior Research Fellow, Senior Research Fellow in any reputed institute. Students can get 25,000 pm as JRF and 28,000 pm as SRF with HRA (House Rental Allowance).

There are lot of opportunities in Public Sector Undertaking. With valid GATE score students can apply for job in any PSUSs like BHEL, BSNL, CIL, GAIL, HAL(Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, IOCL, HPCL, NTPC, etc. All above PSUs provide attractive salaries. Bhabha Atomic Research Center also hires electrical engineers through GATE. MSEB, is another better career option for electrical engineers.

Electrical Engineers can have flourishing career in the sectors like Electronics, Power generation, Oil and gas, Marine, Materials and metals, Pharmaceuticals, Construction, Defense, Telecoms, Chemical Railway, Aerospace, Automotive, Utilities.

There are abundance of opportunity for eletrical engineer in various private IT & electrical companies in India. Companies in private sector that hire various skilled electrical engineers are Alstom, ABB, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Crompton Greaves Limited, Bajaj Electricals Ltd, Siemens India, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd., Spectrum Power Generation Limited, HBL, Power Systems Limited and many more. All IT companies also hire electrical engineers to develop the software related with Electric Field Company as they require depth knowledge of the field.

There are a large number of employment opportunities for electrical engineers in overseas. This is because of the presence of various manufacturing firms outside India. Electrical Engineers who are specialized in Control and Power Systems can find good opportunities in Japan, Germany, US & Korea. Electical Design Engineers also can try in multidisciplinary engineering consultancies.

There is a good scope for electrical engineering in coming days as more emphasis is given on solar and wind energy by government. As the modern life is completely dependent on electrical objects, electrical engineers have a great demand in allmost all fields. The job prospects are very high with or without post graduate degree. Having a post graduate degree will increase the prospects. India suppose to do a lot in infrastructure in coming 20-25 years and job opportunities for core field would be best so thinking to pursue electrical engineering is a great and flourishing data.

Writing A Curriculum Vitae (CV)

The Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume may be the most important document you ever write. A good CV will get you an interview for the job you want, while a bad one will mean that you are rejected without being seen. It is, therefore, through the CV that you 'sell' yourself. Your CV is in the nature of a calling card to remind the interviewer who you are. A CV is intended to show that you are capable of doing the job and that you may be the person the employer is looking for. Your CV must be created in such a way that it will help your campaign, provoke interest and get an interview, facilitate a face-to-face presentation and prospect for you outside your geographic area. Making your CV stand out in the crowd is half the battle when there are always so many applicants for every opening.

A CV or resume is a carefully tailored marketing tool that summarizes one's employment qualifications for a pre-defined target audience. The two aspects to consider are content and presentation. Your CV is however, not a confession. You can present yourself in your best light emphasizing your strengths and playing down your weaknesses. This is quite fair; your competitors are all doing the same. Good presentation will, however, never make up for weak content, but it is all too easy to ruin strong content by poor presentation.

LAYOUT

Your layout should always be clear, logical and easy to follow with plenty of white space. Set your margins at 1" on all sides to start with. If space becomes an issue, you can shrink them down to 1/2", but any smaller and your page will start to look cramped. Margins serve to provide a welcome border of white space around your text and also as a built-in memo pad for employers to make notes directly on your CV, if they wish to.

  • Name is, of course, the first heading. It looks best when centered or pulled out to the left hand margin. Put it in bold type and make it larger than anything else on you resume
  • Address and Phone Number - List your complete address and moblie number. If you have a phone number and e-mail address, list those as well. List either your home phone number or your office phone number or both. Your office number must be listed only if you are sure that you have privacy in its use.
  • Profile - To make a strong, positive impression from the start formulate a profile or summary statement that can grab the reader's attention in the first few seconds of reading the CV. The profile is most effective for the experienced job hunter to prove to the employer that you are tuned to his needs and possess the qualifications he is seeking. In fact, anything favourable should be on the front page, in summary form, if necessary.
  • Objective - Most recruiters advise that recent graduates should include an objective on the resume. A well-conceived objective shows the prospective employer that you not only know what you want in a job but that you have also taken the time to learn what they want in a candidate.
  • Education - Use this section as a major selling point to show why you are particularly well qualified for the job, Place it on the top after your objective. But if you have professional experience, then, of course, education come after experience. In the education section mention the name of the institution attended, city and state of its location, name of the degree/diploma or certificate you received, the year of graduation. If you are a fresh graduate in a field relevant to the job and your percentages are good, listing your aggregates is a good idea. If you got A First Class Honours / Master's, mention it so that it is noticed; if yu got a second class / pass, leave it out and explain later.
  • Experience - could be the heart and soul of your CV. In this section, describe accomplishments, major job responsibilities, skills and knowledge acquired on the job. List your jobs in reverse order and with the latest and most interesting coming first. You may highlight internships, voluntary work, extra curricular activities, responsibilities handled, etc. if you have no professional experience.
  • Activities - section is vital for freshers. Highlight those that are relevant to the job.
  • Special Skills - must be listed in the order of their relevance to the employer. Remember to qualify the level of proficiency, say in languages, computers, shorthand/typing, speaking, etc.
  • Your interests are best listed if they are either unique or relevant to the job. Controversial issues like religion or politics are best not mentioned.
  • Professional memberships / continuing education, Licences / Certificates / publications are to be listed depending upon their relevance and contribution to your value as an employee.
  • Publications - If you are applying for an academic post and you have a significant number of publications, mention them in the top half of the front page. For an academic position, highlight academic publications. For non-academic posts, high-lighting popular articles shows that you can write readably and can communicate technical matters to a general audience.
  • Referees - It is quite all right to mention, "The names and addresses of referees can be provided if necessary". When you must quote name of referees, they should be people who can comment on your suitability for a job rather than those who could exercise political pressure. Your college professor or former boss - someone who knows you well enough, has some evidence of your performance and ability is a better referee. Talk to your referees; seek their permission and cooperation. Go over your CV with them and discuss the kind of recommendation they will give you.

HELPFUL HINT'S

  • Ideally, a CV should not be more than two or three pages, on the shorter side when you are a fresher.
  • State your career objective; include all academic and practical training, experience and skills that are in line with it.
  • Sell yourself. Without exaggeration, emphasis your skills, accomplishments and levels of responsibility attained.
  • Put the important things first. Arrange the information within each item with your career goals in mind.
  • Use reverse chronological order, meaning that when items are listed by date, the most recent should come first.
  • An action-oriented style with action verbs to highlight achievements is the best.
  • Make it brief; delete irrelevant verbiage and fluff.
  • Use perfect grammar, spelling an punctuation.
  • Active voice is always better than passive
  • Avoid grandiosity. Always opt for the simplest, most straightforward language.
  • Make sure your document is readable. It should be spotless and attractive, well centered with no crowding.
A CV's content should be completely factual, results-oriented, accurate and honest. The focus should be on verifiable accomplishments and skills rather than no subjective qualities such as attitudes or personality traits. Your CV is, in a sense, a documentation of your past but it needs to be geared towards your future.

DON'Ts
  • Avoid serial numbers against the items in your C.V. It is not supposed to read like a shopping list.
  • Do not include details of height, weight etc. unless specifically asked.
  • Avoid mention of sex/gender, as it shouldn't matter either way.
  • Father's / Husband's name may be mentioned but their occupation need not be described unless this strengthens your application is some way.
  • Mentioning a number of well-placed relatives in your CV is of no consequence because the CV is yours. The employer has to be impressed with your achievements not theirs.
  • Don't act smart and skip details that you feel may go against your candidature. For example, not giving date of birth (because you are older than specified), not giving qualification (because the advertisement specified a science graduate and you graduated in commerce), not specifying languages spoken (because the advertisement specified familiarity with the local language and you do not speak it). You may feel that you can explain in the interview but chances are you may not be called at all. It is wiser to give an explanation in the covering letter and mention why you should still be considered.
  • References need not be provided unless specified. (Mention that you will provide them as and when needed.)
  • Mention nationality only when asked to do so, or when applying for an international appointment.
  • Statements or achievements that cannot be proven should not be included.
  • Do not use abbreviations that can be understood in different ways.
  • Avoid overcrowding with in-consequential data.
  • Exaggeration and flowery terms are out.
  • Remuneration - avoid the risk of over or under-pricing yourself by omitting such details. If specifically asked, deal with it in your covering letter.
  • Reasons for leaving previous job - This is a potential minefield; so let them wait for the interview.
  • Don't use just any paper - use only good quality white bond paper.

PRESENTATION

The final step is to present your CV well. It is worth the cost of getting it on a word processor and using a laser printer. Let it be professionally laid out, so that it is both neat and eye-catching. Every prospective employer should get a top copy typed on expensive paper, not a smudged photocopy. You, then, give the impression that you are someone who is willing to do the job properly, because you will indeed have done the job properly.

It is advisable that a CV be rewritten for each job, emphasizing the skills and experience that are relevant. Tailor your resume so that busy recruiters know immediately how you are going to add value to their organisation.

The Covering Letter ACV usually goes with a brief covering letter highlighting your qualifications and experience (relevant to job). It should be concise, to the point and well phrased.

Application Forms / Format Expect to fill out in a ready-made format for entry-level positions in public / private sector organisations or government service. Fill it up neatly and correctly and keep a copy for your reference.

The technique of Reiki was founded by Mikao Usui a Japanese, hence the word Reiki is a Japanese word which means Rei - spiritual or supernatural power and ki - vital energy and hence Reiki - Supernatural vital energy.

The patient suffering from stress, feels sick or any other unnatural problems can get treated by Reiki practitioner. The Reiki treatment creats many beneficial effects such as relaxation, feeling peaceful, security and well-being. There are many miraculous results of Reiki.

Every one can use Reiki, it is very simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing. Reiki treatment can be adopted with all other medical or therapeutic techniques. Reiki treatment can relieve from side effects and it also promote recovery.

For practicing Reiki one should have the ability to use it which is passed to the students by Reiki master during an "attunement". After "attunement" the student can start to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life. People of all ages and backgrounds has been successfully taught on how to practice Reiki techniques.

After several years of developing Reiki, Mikao Usui added the Reiki principles to the practice of Reiki. These are part from the five principles of Meiji emperor of Japan who is admired by Mikao Usui. These principles added the spiritual balance to Usui Reiki. The purpose of these principles is to help people realize that healing the spirit by consciously deciding to improve oneself is a necessary part of the Reiki healing experience. To get the results of Reiki the patient must accept responsibility for her or his healing and take an active part in it. The patient is include to take an active commitment to improve oneself in order for reiki to be a complete system. There is a saying "You can take the horse to the water but you can't make him to drink", in the same way we can't force someone to accept Reiki it has to be accepted by oneself. Nagpur Municipal Corporation to have its own drinking water brand

Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is mulling over a proposal to set up its bottling plant to provide packaged drinking water to the citizens. The civic body will provide the bottled water at a very competitive rate as compared to similar products available in the market. This may open a new avenue of generating revenue for cash-strapped NMC.

Highly placed sources in NMC claimed that the Nagpur Environment Engineering Services Limited (NESL) had taken a decision in the year 2016 to set up a bottling plant at Nagpur to sell bottled drinking water.

It may be mentioned that several brands are already selling packaged drinking water at quite a higher rate. The civic body is suppliying 1,000 litres of water for Rs. 8, while big brands are charging around Rs 18-20 for one litre water bottle, using NMC's water.

A senior officer said, "We may sell one litre water bottle at Rs. 10 to the consumer. Our product will be cheaper as compared to other products in the market. NMC can generate a huge profit from selling bottled water. The bottling plant will be installed at Gorewada Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and raw water available at the WTP will be used for bottling. The civic body may initially install bottling plant of 2,000 bottles capacity. The main concern is about marketing and we are appointing a consultant to guide us for the marketing and production of the water bottle. We may also provide space to other companies to bottle the water and sell it in the market at the rates decided by the civic body. We will share the profit margin."

The officer hoped that this would pave way for the new revenue generation for the cash strapped NMC.

Presently, the civic body is struggling with the finances and it is mulling all the proposals to increase its revenue. The collection from Property Tax and Goods and Services Tax (GST) is meager as compare to the development pace of the city.

Rays of Sunlight - Natural Healing

Rays of Sunlight are considered as the Natural Healing and the best source of Vitamin D. In response to exposure of ultraviolet radiation from Natural Sunlight the skin produces Vitamin D which is the most important nutrient for the health. The production of Vitamin D in our body starts as soon as the rays of Sunlight touches the skin.

Vitamin D is the single most valued nutrient in the list of nutrition.Vitamin D is provided free of cost by the natural sunlight, but we are reluctant to take the advantage of this nutrient available in nature which is the result most of are are suffering with the Vitamin D deficiency.

When people go outside, most of them specially girls and women cover their faces with scarf, wear spectacles to protect eyes from sunlight. Even in cars, black screen on windows are used to protect from sunlight. Due to all these reasons their is Vitamin D deficiency. Also people apply sunscreen lotion on body to protect the skin from rays of sun which again decreases the ability of the body to produce Vitamin D.

Individuals should get exposure to direct sunlight between 10 am to 3 pm for 45 minutes in two to three times in a week. We cannot get adequate amount of Vitamin D from any dietary supplements, hence it is necessary that we should have exposure to Sunlight which is the only reliable way to generate Vitamin D in our body. If we need to have Vitamin D artificially than we would have to take ten big glasses of Vitamin D fortified milk each day to adjust the minimum levels of Vitamin D in diet. If there is a chronic Vitamin D deficiency in our body than we would have to consume Vitamin D supplements for at least a month with sunlight exposure to rebuild body's bones and nervous system.

Diseases like Osteoporosis, Prostate Cancer, Breast Cancer, Ovarian Cancer, Depression, Colon Cancer, Schizophrenia, Rickets etc. are the results of Vitamin D deficiency. Also, Vitamin D deficiency exacerbate type II diabetes and impair insulin production in pancreas. Obesity also impairs Vitamin D utilisation in the body. Vitamin D is the most powerful healing chemical in human body which makes it absolutely free and no prescription is required.

Need of Vitamin D in our body for different essential function are as follows
  • Supports the immune systems
  • Good for loosing excess fat
  • Strengths teeth
  • Bone health
  • Essential for decreasing symptons of asthma
  • Anti-cancer
  • Protects against dementia and brain aging

Different benefits of getting Sunlight exposure are as follows
  • Killing of bad bacteria due to Sunlight - Sunlight kills bad bacteria in our body. To disinfect and heal the wounds one can use Sunlight as the natural resource.
  • Cholesterol can be lowered by Sunlight - Due to exposure to Sunlight high cholesterol in the blood gets conveted into steroid hormones and the sex hormones which we need for reproduction.
  • Penetration of Sunlight deep into the skin, cleanse the blood and blood vessels. The people with atherosclerosis (hardened arteries) can get cured with exposure of Sunlight.
  • Sunlight and whole foods send breast cancer into remission - Sunbathing and nutrition can be used to cure the breast cancer patients. It can completely reverse the metastasized cancer.
  • Blood pressure can be lowered with Sunlight - Individuals with high blood pressure can lower there blood pressure with the exposure to Sunlight.
  • Immune system can be build by Sunlight - White blood cells, plays a major role in defending the body against infections. Due to exposure to Sunlight white blood cells increases and these are called lymphocytes.
  • Oxygen content in human blood increases - Due to exposure to sunlight oxygen content in human blood increases and enhances the body's capacity to deliver oxygen to the tissues which is an equal process as exercise. Sunlight has a great effect on stamina, fitness and muscular development.
  • Beneficial effect of Sunlight on skin disorder - Skin disorders such as psoriasis, acne, eczema and fungal infections of the skin has beneficial effect of Sunlight.
  • Increase in the growth and height of children - Regular sunlight exposure increases the growth and height of children, especially of babies. The amount of sunlight exposure in the first few months effects on how tall the persons grows.
I had given so many advantages of the sunlight as a natural resource for you body but exposure to sunlight should be done very slowly as the reverse can turn into sunburn. So, if you are not use to the sunlight then it should be started slowly so that your tolerance will grow slowly and sunburns can be avoid.

Deekshabhoomi Nagpur - About, Contact, Address, Images

Deekshabhoomi is a one of the special monument of Buddhism where the architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. Bhimrao Ramaji Ambedkar, took the oath and got converted to Buddhism with lakhs of his followers on the day of Ashok Vijaya Dashami on 14 October 1956. Dr. Ambedkar's conversion to Buddhism is deeply significant for millions of people in India.
Deekshabhoomi Nagpur
Deekshabhoomi
Deekshabhoomi is situated in NagpurMaharashtra, India which is also famous for its location as the center of India with "Zero Mile Stone". An area viewed as a journey focal point of Buddhism in India. On 14th October, also known as "Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din" lots of people visit Deekshabhoomi every year, pay honour to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar as on that day Dr. Ambedkar was converted to Buddhism. His last religious act was to grasp Buddhism. Today, the biggest stupa in Asia is raised in his memory at the site.
Deeksha actually signifies 'demonstration of appointing' and bhoomi implies the 'ground'. Deekshabhoomi implies the ground where individuals got appointed as Buddhist. This religious mass transformation at one place was the main ever of its kind.

In the year 1935 Dr. Ambedkar in one of his discourse had announced that however he is conceived as a Hindu yet he'll not die as Hindu. After this assertion he forcefully considered different real religions and lastly picked Buddhism for him and his devotees.

There is an explanation behind picking Nagpur as the inside for the transformation to Buddhism. Nagpur in early days was considered to be the place were people used to be devotees of Budhhism and had a solid help for this religion. Following 21 years of his revelation he at that point picked a place at Abhyankar Nagar in Nagpur for the transformation service to occur. The function took on 14th October 1956. He alongside his significant other Mrs. Savita Ambedkar and a large number of his supporters converted over to Buddhism. They both took vow of "Three Jewels" and "Five Precepts" and "22 Vows" from Bhiku Mahasthavir Chandramani. At that point, Dr. Ambedkar gave a similar oath to a huge number of his devotees.

After one and a half months after this event Dr. Ambedkar died on December 6, 1956. After his demise his adherents chose to choose an administration board of trustees keeping in mind the end goal to control and oversee Deekshabhoomi. The board of trustees was named "Dr. Ambedkar Smarak Samiti". The council at that point chose to manufacture a Stupa at the place as a commemoration of that service and a mass change of individuals to Buddhism.

To flush choked drains Nagpur Municipal Corporation to use 'well water'

To flush city's choked drain and sewerage lines, Nagpur Municipal Corporation(NMC), apart from using potable water to do douse fire, uses drinking water in suction jetting machines.

The NMC's sanitation department on an average attends at least 8-10 complaints of choked drains and sewer line with 10 suction jetting machines (one each with 10 zones) having a capacity of 3,000 litres each. According to calculation it uses about 74.88 lakh litres water per annum.

Now it has been decided by NMC to use 'contaminated' well water to clean choked drains and sewerage lines, as told by health officer (sanitation) Dr. Pradip Dasarwar. This decision was taken by additional municipal commissioner Ravindra Kumbhare, which will be implemented at the earliest said Dr. Pradip Dasarwar.

At present, the NMC fills water from either elevated storage reservoir of from hydrants of the fire department.

According to Dr. Dasarwar, the fire department uses at least 10 dewatering of wells in the city every day to drain the water in drains, which will be used by the health department using pumps for flushing of blockages in sewerage lines.

The capacity of ESR to store water is 22 lakh litres which can caters 15,000 consumers, that means 2.4 lakh people can get water supply in a single day. This is how potable water will be saved to great extent.

A spokesperson from Orange City Water, the private firm entrusted with supplying water in city limits, said, “Such tankers were filling potable water from NMC-OCW hydrant. After this came to light, we now don’t allow such tankers to fill water from our hydrant in any case. We have strictly instructed tanker supervisor and security personnel to stop such tankers to take potable water.”
