Former Minister Dr. Nitin Raut has been appointed as a National Chairman of Scheduled Caste Department, of All India Congress Committee. His appointment letter was issued by the Congress General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi on Tuesday.
Dr. Nitin Raut, who held important portfolio in Democratic Front Government, is a staunch follower of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and always followed the principles of Congress party.
He expressed his gratitude towards the UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress President Rahul Gandhi for giving him such a great resposibilty. He promised to put all efforts to strengthen Congrss in all the states. Spelling out his agenda as new head of cell dealing with scheduled caste, Dr. Raut, a doctarate on Dr. Ambedkar thoughts and a qualified pilot, said he will pursue to give justice to the distressed, backward class people of the country.
Former Guardian Minister Satish Chaturvedi welcomed the appointment of Dr. Nitin Raut and stated that he would be useful in strengthening the base of Congress at grass root level. Former MP Gev Awari and Former MLA Ashok Dhawad believed that Congress has given an opportunity to Raut to work at National Level. This will help the party to strengthen its base among backward class people.
